About the role 💡

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our Audio Engine team.

Voicemod's Audio Engine is where the magic happens – it's the real-time voice modification technology that makes our products (and our partners' products) hum. We're looking for a meticulous QA Engineer with a keen ear to join this team and become a guardian of audio excellence.

You'll be responsible for testing our cross-platform engine on both desktop and mobile devices, designing test plans, automating processes, and using your audio signal processing knowledge and critical listening skills to pinpoint even the most subtle audio anomalies. And since our Audio Engine team also supports our sound-designing Audio Content team, you'll get to flex your collaborative muscles too. Think of this role as the bridge between the pure engineering of our audio magic and the end-user experience that makes Voicemod special.

What you'll do 💼

In this role, you will::

  • Become an Audio Guardian: Design comprehensive test plans, build out automated test suites, and meticulously evaluate audio outputs to ensure Voicemod's audio technology remains top-notch.
  • Automate for Efficiency: Use your scripting skills to streamline testing processes, integrate the test into CI pipelines, and free up time for those in-depth audio evaluations.
  • Bridge the Teams: Collaborate with our Audio Engine developers to troubleshoot issues, and partner with our Audio Content team to ensure our diverse range of voice filters sound incredible.
  • Speak Up for Quality: Advocate for a quality-first mindset across the development cycle, proactively identifying risks and suggesting improvements.
  • Own Your Craft: Stay at the forefront of audio testing techniques and help us continually raise the bar on how we define quality.

What you'll need 🦄

We’re looking for a candidate who has:

  • Professional English level: Fluent written/oral communication in English (Upper-Intermediate/Advanced).
  • QA Fundamentals: A solid grasp of software quality assurance principles, test case design, and automation tools (like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium).
  • Ears of a Hawk: Proven critical listening skills and the ability to discern even the most subtle audio distortions, artifacts, or latency issues.
  • Audio understanding: Signal Processing Knowledge: You are familiar with common audio signal processing elements like spectrograms, pitch, sample rate, etc.
  • Coding Fluency: Proficiency in scripting languages (Python mainly but JS would be a plus) for test automation.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between our technical and creative teams.
  • Audio Knowhow: Experience with audio editing/processing software, e.g. DAW.
  • Passion for the Product: An interest in audio technology, gaming, content creation, or all of the above would be a major plus!
